The event gathered numerous guests, including MPs, local government officials, rectors of partner universities from Poland and from abroad, as well as representatives of businesses and institutions.
During the ceremony, doctoral promotions and Medals for Merits to the University and for Long-Term Work were presented. The ceremony concluded with a concert prepared by the Department of Musical Arts. 

This year, the University community as well as local and regional contestants participated in a symbolic 550-metre run, the main 5,500-metre run, and a 5500-metre Nordic Walking event. The event was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports and the "Sub ventum" Foundation.

In the evening, the Rector opened the traditional University Gala. During the event, the University authorities presented awards to individuals who contributed to the development of the local community. The 2024 awards were presented to:
Professor Krystyna Krawiec-Złotkowska, for the promotion of Polish culture and language,
Jakub Bilski, from Kaliop Poland company, for the promotion and the development of entrepreneurship,
Professor Wojciech Skóra, for the promotion of science, technology and
Paweł Kawałko, from the MMAtaleo Słupsk sports club, for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle
We sincerely thank everyone for their participation and for celebrating the 55th Anniversary of  Pomeranian University in Słupsk together. In particular, we would like to extend our gratitude to international guests who travelled long distances (Japan), often in perilous conditions (Ukraine), to be able to celebrate with us.
