International Day 2021
On 28 May 2021, Pomeranian University in Słupsk celebrated the 52. Anniversary of its foundation and International Day. The ceremonial festival was attended by foreign partners and students, the entire academic community, as well as domestic and foreign guests.
The ceremony was inaugurated by the Rector of Pomeranian University in Słupsk, professor Zbigniew Osadowski. In his speech, the Rector emphasized the ongoing commitment of the academic community to building a modern university in the area of high-quality education, the development of research and internationalization. He particularly emphasized the activities of the University in the field of Public Outreach, implemented mainly through the Third Mission “Active University” Project.
During the event our partners from all over the world, as well as foreign students, congratulated the University in their greeting videos. Promotional videos and achievements of foreign students which were shown were also of great interest.
The event featured live interviews with nine Erasmus+ and Double Degree students. In turn, Institutes and Departments of Pomeranian University in Słupsk had a unique opportunity to present themselves in front of an international audience.
The celebration ended with competitive performances by musical bands from Pomeranian University in Słupsk and our partner universities. The event called the “International Battle of Musical Bands” proved extremely popular, with more than 3300 votes cast in the online voting for the favourite band.
The event was broadcast on the YouTube channel and Facebook, with more than 1,500 views since Friday.
Let us express our gratitude for your active participation and our fruitful cooperation in a variety of fields. The International Day proved that we are all one big academic community, jointly working on maintaining and promoting the idea of internationalisation, despite the current odds.
