The Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025
On 18 October 2024, Pomeranian University in Słupsk held the 56th Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025. The event was officially presided by the Rector, professor Zbigniew Osadowski.
In his speech, the Rector highlighted the significance of this year's ceremony, which marks the beginning of the University’s first full term for 2024-2028. Additionally, he expressed joy and pride as the University awarded the title of doctor honoris causa for the first time in its history.
During the ceremony, students and PhD students took their oaths, and the Rector's awards and medals were presented to distinguished individuals. Following this part of the event, the honorary doctorate was ceremoniously awarded to professor Irakli Burduli, from Georgia’s Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Professor Burduli expressed his gratitude to Pomeranian University in Słupsk for the honor, stating that he felt proud and that it was a very important day in his life.
We were honored by the presence of important guests representing parliamentary, local, and regional authorities. It was particularly delightful to host a large group of representatives from the legal community, both national and international. Among the guests were also representatives of the medical field, clergy, educational institutions, and uniformed services. We also hosted international delegations from our partner universities.
