Juwenalia 2023 - Annual Students’ Holiday
Juwenalia is a unique students' holiday in Poland, traditionally celebrated in May. This is the time when students symbolically take over the power over their cities and organise events, such as knowledge contests, sports competitions, concerts, etc.
As always, the Students' Council of Pomeranian University in Słupsk proved extremely active in the organisation of this year’s Juwentalia. 25 and 26 May 2023 saw a number of events, including a wonderful students’ parade, sports events and music concerts. The colourful parade on 25 May inaugurated the celebrations, with students’ marching to the city centre and receiving a symbolic lock from the Słupsk District Administrator (Starosta), Mr Paweł Lisowski, and a key (to the gates of the city, or the lock) from the Mayor of the city of Słupsk, Ms Krystyna Danilecka-Wojewódzka. The participants then marched back to the campus where they lit a campfire, grilled food and prepared for the evening musical events.
The Students’ Council would like to thank the local authorities, the authorities of the university, sponsors, and all those involved in the organisation of Juwenalia 2023 for their invaluable support.
