Cooperation with Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University
Our Rector, professor Zbigniew Osadowski, and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, professor Danuta Gierczyńska, took part in a scientific conference in Almaty, organized jointly with Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.
The 10th Anniversary Scientific Conference entitled "Problems of Poetics and Prosody" was a three-day event (23-25 May 2024), dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Kazakh writer, scholar and educator Chasen Adibayev. During the opening of the conference, the Rector gave a talk as an honorary guest.
Chasen Adibayev (1924-2012) was an outstanding Kazakh teacher, doctor of philological sciences, professor, and scientist at the Abai National Pedagogical University. He was also a writer and literary critic, who had a significant impact on the development of Kazakh literature and philology as a science. The conference was attended by the granddaughter of Professor Chasen Adibayev, doctor Shołpan Adibayeva, a young literary scholar, who continues the scientific philological traditions in her family.
During the conference, a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding took place. The rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University was represented by Ms. Banu Narbiekowa, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
Pomeranian University in Słupsk boasts a long history of successful cooperation with our partner university in Kazakhstan. For many years, we have implemented student exchange schemes, double degree study programmes and co-organised conferences, meetings and student integration activities. We are also proud that Pomeranian University in Słupsk is home to the only Kazakh Culture and Science Center in Poland named after Abai. It has been 5 years since its official opening. It has proven an important place for a dialogue between Polish and Kazakh scholars and a centre for the dissemination of knowledge about the culture of Kazakhstan.
